7Prague, Czech Republic – A Fairytale in the Old Town Square
Prague’s Old Town Square is already one of Europe’s most beautiful, but during Christmas, it feels like stepping into a snow-globe dream.
The square hosts the city’s main Christmas market, with a massive tree glittering beneath the Gothic towers of the Church of Our Lady before Týn. Visitors can savor Czech specialties such as trdelník (a sweet pastry rolled in sugar and walnuts) and svařák (mulled wine) while listening to carols. Smaller markets at Wenceslas Square and Prague Castle add to the city’s holiday charm.
